![]() ![]() For me pCars does the best job of creating the ambience of a race day event. I can accept the small difference (again in my opinion) between the fidelity of the FFB between the two games but not in the graphics and sound. ![]() People say "oh graphics aren't everything' but its what you see on your screen, feel in your hands through the FFB, or what you hear through your speakers that sets the scene and in terms of graphics there is a huge gulf between GSCE and pCars. The FFB in GSCE is excellent, no doubt about that but in my opinion the FFB in pCars is also very good and not that far away from GSCE but great feeling FFB is just a small part (albeit an important one) of creating an immersive feeling racing game. I still love Pcars and I will keep messing with it, but please try to get some consistency when pushing out more updates, and adding more sliders is not the answer. I'm just curious why SMS made it so difficult to get a good feel when GSCE made it a very simple process with amazing results. Listen, I don't want this post to turn into some flame war or bashing. I mean they were advertising heavy with Thrustmaster, so where are those settings? Why hasn't SMS posted some basic force feedback settings to start with, instead of a third party such as Jack Spade to help the community out? When SMS was developing this game I'm sure they were testing several different wheels, so why don't they list some of the settings they were using while testing? I know it's a personal preference, but at least give a starting point for each brand of wheel. So why does it take so much for Pcars to feel right? And the thing with GSCE, there's not 20 different sliders for the force feedback. So today I was a little frustrated with Pcars and I haven't played GSCE in months, so I cranked it up, sat down and grabbed my T500RS and Game Stock Car felt amazing. Honestly it seems some of them are pseudo-sliders, because they don't seem to do anything. Yup more sliders, when I haven't figured out half of what the other ones do yet. So holy crap here we go again, but this time they added some default settings and more sliders. Then once again SMS drops another update with supposed improvements to the force feedback. Not sure why, but it was drivable and pretty close, so I was happy once again. Got it set pretty good, but it didn't quite feel as good as it was before the update. So once again I spend hours tweaking the force feedback. Then SMS pushed out an update and it reset all my settings. It finally felt comparable to GSCE, so I was pretty happy. xml and tweaked a few more little things. Then I used Jack Spade's tweaks and that improved it immensely. ![]() After some research on the net I found a few settings that improved things, but it still didn't feel right. When I first bought Pcars the force feedback was a mess. With every Pcar update I hoped for improvement, but I would end up spending hours trying to get it to feel right.
